The goal from Bayern talent Wisdom Mike is not enough against North Korea. The German U17 now has its first final ahead of it.

A Bayern gem scores – and yet the German U17s have to worry about progressing at the World Cup in Qatar. After the 1-1 draw at the start against Colombia, national coach Marc Meister’s DFB selection couldn’t get past 1-1 (0-0) against North Korea and are already under pressure in their mission to defend their title at the end of the preliminary round against El Salvador on Monday (from 2.30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker).

17-year-old Wisdom Mike, who recently made his debut for FC Bayern in the Bundesliga and Champions League, gave Germany the lead at the Aspire Academy in Doha (62nd minute). Il-bok Han (81st) equalized for North Korea, which is at the top of Group G with four points. Germany is second.

The top two in the twelve groups and the best eight third-placed teams qualify for the knockout round.

Final whistle: The German players probably imagined it differently. In a difficult game against North Korea, the team around Bayern talent Widom Mike hardly had any great chances. Initially, the flow of the game also suffered due to the referee’s rather petty decisions. With the restart Mike brought relief, but it didn’t last long. North Korea secured a point with a dream goal.

90th minute +7: The game is over. Germany and North Korea draw 1:1.

90th minute +3: Germany doesn’t think of much anymore. Crosses like those from Domnic land at the opponent. There is hardly any space in the center. Will another team score a last-minute goal to win?

90th minute: There are six minutes on top of that.

86th minute: With the equalizer, North Korea jumps to the top of Group G for the time being (four points), Germany is right behind with two points less.

81st minute: Goal for North Korea! And suddenly the supposed outsider hits. Substitute Il-bok Han receives the ball at the right corner of the penalty area. He is not attacked and finishes with his left ankle. A dream goal!

80th minute: Germany changes again. Maik Afri Akumu and Lasse Eickel are now in the game for Mike and Staff.
