A German Youtuber is to pay a fine of almost 500,000 euros in 51 cases for participating in illegal gambling at online casinos.
The influencer is also said to have advertised the games on his channels in 37 cases, as the public prosecutor’s office in the capital announced on Tuesday.
The Tiergarten district court issued a penalty order of 480,000 euros against him.
The crime period is said to be between October 2021 and May 2022. The fine amounts to 120 daily rates of 4000 euros each.
The basis for the amount was statements by the Youtuber about the amount of his income in the social networks. A deduction was made in his favour. The state administration office of Saxony-Anhalt is said to have previously made the man aware of the criminal liability of his actions.
