Shaking news from the capital: A 28 -year -old youth coach died. His club now collects donations for his family.

The 1. FC Union Berlin mourns the loss of a young coach. As the Bundesliga club announced on his homepage, Marlon Höfer died at the age of 28. He was most recently a goalkeeper coach in the U14 in the youth performance center.

“Marlon was a husband and loving dad of two children. The enthusiastic Unioner was in the stadium whenever it was possible. As a teacher of sports and Italian, his center of life was last in Köpenick. His enthusiasm for football as a coach and goalkeeper was contagious” , wrote the association.

The club also set up a donation account on the website in which fans can participate in order to support the family financially.
