German tourist (46) missing at De Cocksdorp, emergency services widely deployed

A German woman was reported missing last night after what was suspected to have been a nightly swim, after which the coastguard and police went looking for her with all their might. Now that it has become light, the police are also deploying sniffer dogs and drones.

The call came in to emergency services around 2 a.m. A police spokesperson told NH that the woman was in ‘worrying condition’ before she went missing. A Coast Guard helicopter was also deployed during the nighttime search.

Now that it has become light, the police have decided to use sniffer dogs and drones in the search for the tourist. The action has now been scaled up to ‘urgent missing’.

The woman is 1.55 tall and has short, blond hair. She wears a green scarf, blue jacket and blue pants with a black backpack. Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for her.
