DAVOS (dpa-AFX) – Looking ahead to 2025, the majority of German managers expect the third year of recession in a row. In German executives, 56 percent expect another negative year – with weak demand and supply bottlenecks for energy and skilled workers. This emerges from a survey by the consulting firm PwC among around 4,700 company bosses in 109 countries, which was published at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

German managers are the most pessimistic among G20 countries

Expectations for the domestic economy in Germany are therefore more bleak than in any other G20 country. 41 percent of the German top managers surveyed even say so for the next twelve months Job cuts in your own company. More than one in three doubts that the company will still be viable in ten years if nothing fundamentally changes. At the same time, German companies are even more hesitant than many others when it comes to artificial intelligence: only 35 percent of managers assume that AI will increase their company’s profitability in the next year.

The view of the global economy is more optimistic among international top managers: Globally, almost 60 percent of business leaders are optimistic about global economic development./tam/DP/mis
