At the halfway point of the relay race in Oberhof, the German biathlon women were still doing quite well in the race on Sunday afternoon. After Vanessa Voigt and Janina Hettich-Walz had done their work, the DSV quartet was in fourth place, 58 seconds behind the leading French women. Afterwards, however, there were two bitter mistakes in the German team, as both Sophia Schneider and Franziska Preuß had to go into the penalty loop.
