18-year-old David Fix from TC Wolfsberg Pforzheim lost to Frenchman Arthur Gea in his opening match 2:6, 3:6.
For Fix, currently number 56 in the junior world rankings, it was the third Grand Slam start. In the junior competition at the Australian Open, he also failed in the first round at the beginning of the year, and at the French Open he had reached the round of 16.
