For Georg Zimmermann, the section to Châteauroux is unhappy. Suddenly he lies next to the street.

The German road bike master Georg Zimmermann fell heavily on the ninth stage of the 112nd Tour de France. Around 117 kilometers before the finish in Châteauroux, the 26-year-old came from Augsburg from the route and was visibly drawn next to the street.

As TV images showed, Zimmermann suffered abrasives on the forearm and thighs. After a brief study by the racing doctor, the professional team of Intermarché-Wanty continued the race. During the journey, he was continued to provide medical care on the accompanying vehicle.

Zimmermann had only secured the German championship title in the Palatinate two weeks ago.
