The German Foreign Ministry is not taking “measures to reduce the staff of the embassy” in Ukraine, the diplomatic department said. “RIA News” with reference to the German agency dpa.
The Foreign Ministry added that they are closely monitoring the safety of the staff of missions in Ukraine and are in contact with partners in the European Union.
Bild announced Germany’s plans to evacuate families of diplomats from Ukraine
Earlier, the Bild newspaper reported citing sources that the German department was developing a plan to evacuate the families of diplomats from the embassy in Ukraine. The evacuation will begin in the event of an escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine, the newspaper noted.
Since the fall of 2021, Western media have been reporting on Russia’s plans to “invade” Ukraine. The Kremlin denies this.
