German Finance Minister fears that Russia will not supply gas due to sanctions

Russia has always been a reliable exporter of gas, but due to sanctions, supplies may stop, German Economics Minister Christian Lindner expressed concern. And he urged to remember the times of the Cold War. There have been no situations where tensions between the Warsaw Pact countries and NATO have harmed the energy sector. Now things might be different.

Germany has developed a plan to ensure alternative supplies, other countries should also diversify energy imports, including through a network of LNG purchases. Lindner told the Financial Times that he has been advocating for the construction of LNG terminals for many years, this should help in the current situation.

Russia has been fulfilling its obligations to supply natural gas to Europe for many years, Gazprom has repeatedly stressed that it is working in accordance with contractual obligations. The European Union also recognizes this.
