German national team is sitting on an island

On the island of La Réunion, the German National National team completed its traditional hot water training camp. But suddenly the athletes can’t get away.
The “Garance” cyclone has caused great damage on the French island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean-and also affected the German National National team. Because of the collapsed air traffic, the team around the Olympic third of Paris, Noah Hegge, and the Olympic third of Tokyo, Andrea Herzog, sits there.
As Kayak coach Thomas Apel announced, the airport is to open again on Saturday evening from 6.30 p.m. Then the first athletes can leave. The kayak women still have to be patient and are expected to wait for their return flight until Tuesday.
The storm had reached the island on Friday morning with gusts of over 200 kilometers per hour and left serious devastation. Tens of thousands of people are affected by electricity and water failures, at least three people were killed.
