Dirk Nowitzki is apparently about to take a new career step. The former basketball star is to appear as an NBA expert for a streaming service.
Dirk Nowitzki could soon be seen on TV screens again – not only in the USA, but possibly also in Germany. According to US media reports, the former basketball superstar from Würzburg is about to be hired as an NBA expert on Amazon Prime. This would be the 45-year-old’s first appearance as a TV analyst.
Amazon has secured the broadcast rights for the NBA from the 2025/26 season. In the USA, the streaming provider will broadcast the games together with channels such as ABC, NBC and ESPN. Amazon plans to broadcast around 100 games per season worldwide. This also includes games that will be available on Prime Video in Germany.
Nowitzki’s signing could be strategically aimed at further strengthening Amazon Prime’s NBA presence internationally, especially in Germany.
