German at IEM Katowice in playoffs

Starcraft 2 pro Gabriel “HeroMarine” Segat is the only German to have qualified for the playoffs at IEM Katowice.

The Terran player finished second in Group C (3-2). “I’m a bit sad that I didn’t manage to get first place. But at the same time, a lot of things went in my favor today, so I’m really happy,” HeroMarine wrote on his Twitter channel.

Alongside the Mouz player, Koreans Lee “Bunny” Jae-seon (4-1) and Cho “Trap” Seong-ho (3-2) secured spots in the playoffs.

German Zerg player Julian “Lambo” Brosig finished last in the group (1-4). In the run-up to the IEM, he was looking forward to the event: “I haven’t seen many of my Starcraft friends for two years because of Covid. And playing offline just feels special,” he said when asked by the German Press Agency.
