We know Gerard Joling as the eternal single. It was not without reason that he sang the song Always Bachelor. Apparently the singer is a rather difficult person to live with. Although he prides himself on showing everything in his RTL 4 soap, we have never seen him get out of bed with a guy. How exactly does that work? Would he rather keep that private?
Dating Geer
Gerard indicates that he also dated during the recording period of the soap. “Yes, I certainly did have that. And as far as I’m concerned, that should have been filmed, but that didn’t happen. I didn’t keep the cameras away on purpose. Maybe it will be in the next series, who knows,” he says mysteriously in A.D.
Is there secretly someone in Geer’s life? “I once had a nice boyfriend, who luckily didn’t make it to the magazines or any publicity. But then after three or four months I started to feel anxious.”
Egocentric
Why can’t Gerard keep a man by his side? “When you get older and are alone for so long, like me, you become a bit more self-centered. You quickly become annoyed.”
It’s just annoying to have someone in the house when you just wake up, he thinks. “Because of my busy schedule, I’m also happy that I’m alone. I don’t want to think about having to make breakfast for a few people in the morning.”
In love
Has Geer never been madly in love in his life? “I never become that easily. It’s been a while, but I never become cynical about love. I’m always open to it, especially when I see other people in love. That’s so beautiful. Dating, kissing this, dating that.”
“For myself too, yes, but it has to happen. If I were allowed to do that again, fine. If not, my life is just as beautiful. And successful.”
