Annika Malacinski drew a mustache on her face.

Annika Malacinski participated in last spring’s World Championships. He represents the United States, although he is also a citizen of Finland. PDO

Finnish-American combined skier Annika Malacinski opens up on Instagram about the inequality of his species.

The 24-year-old Malacinski will not be able to compete at the Milan-Cortina Olympics because there is no women’s combined in the program of the Games. The men’s competition, on the other hand, is included.

The matter has already caused a great deal of annoyance in the past, and for example Minja Korhonen and Heta Hirvonen said in October that they were aiming for Milan as ski jumpers.

Malacinski now emphasizes on Instagram that the women of the combined use the same training hours for their sport and take the same risks on the hill as the men, so they should get to the same line as the men – the starting line.

At the Oslo World Cup, women protested to the decision-makers by posing as men. Malacinski shared with his followers a picture where the athletes had drawn mustaches on their faces with a marker.

– If only men are admitted to the Olympics, so be it. Then we too will come as “men”, he wrote.

Malacinski’s brother Niklas, 21, also competes in the combined event.

Siblings’ mother Essi Kenttälä is from Rovaniemi and father Steve Malacinski from the United States. The parents met each other in Colorado at a skiing school.

The children went to school in both countries, and they also speak Finnish fluently. However, they represent the United States in competitions.
