A football game in Gelsenkirchen ends in a mass brawl. Now the police are investigating.

A district league game in Gelsenkirchen escalated on Sunday. Around 30 to 40 people teamed together between BV Horst-Süd and SV Hansa Buer Scholven during the game. The result: a tangible discussion in which even striking tools were used.

As the police said, beating and joined by players of both clubs and spectators. The game was then canceled.

According to the officials, beer bottles and sticks were used as weapons. When the police arrived, numerous participants had already left the site. The players who were still present received dismissal.

Two people had to be treated medically due to their injuries. The police have initiated criminal proceedings for dangerous bodily harm and are now investigating how the incident could occur.
