Geert Wilders lashes out very hard at Lale Gül, one of RTL Tonight’s regular experts. The politician finds the TV personality incredibly unintelligent. “She’s so stupid again!”
Lale Gül said this week in both RTL Tonight and Nieuws van de Dag that Geert Wilders would quit as leader of the PVV to work for an American think tank. She would have understood this from several reliable sources (‘four, five’), but according to the politician himself, it is completely wrong.
Four or five sources
Columnist Jan Dijkgraaf saw Lale make that claim on TV. “When presenter Renze Klamer asked political reporter Fons Lambie whether he had also heard that news and a denial followed, Lale Gül said: ‘I could be wrong too.’ LOL,” he writes in his Letter from Jan.
He continues: “I have heard, from four or five sources, that Lale Gül should think before she shoves her mouth. But I could also be wrong.”
Wilders lashes out
Jan finds it incomprehensible that Lale also repeated it at News of the Day. “She is tough-minded (or a better political editor than those 493 others).”
And Wilders himself is now responding to it. He writes down X: “She’s so stupid again. Total nonsense.”
What does Lale think?
What does Lale think of that swipe? “Yes, I was suddenly attacked and I had his frothing at the mouth, single-celled supporters in my inbox also calling me names because he called me stupid,” she says in RTL Tonight.
“Yes, you know me. I report everything that I find newsworthy and I have heard that from several people, so I thought: I will report it. You can also say: ‘It is not true’, but then he will call me names. Yes, I think that is a bit of a shame. He is a representative of the people after all. His supporters are very angry with me.”
