In a recent podcast episode, royal historian Andrew Lownie makes strong claims about Andrew, formerly known as a prince and, among other things, the Duke of York.
The former Prince Andrew is now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. PDO
On Thursday, it was reported that Britain’s Prince Andrew will lose, among other things, his princely title and his home in Windsor.
Today he is known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. A royal historian and author in a podcast recorded even before the historic announcement of Buckingham Palace Andrew Lownie told new information about the activities of the ex-prince, who was caught up in the uproar.
According to Lownie, Andrew has no moral boundaries and has taken advantage of his role as a trade ambassador to make money and chase women.
Andrew previously worked as a government representative in international trade and investment. According to Lownie, Andrew’s Charles-brother, the current king, would have once warned that the task in question should not be given to Andrew. Charles reasoned that Andrew would just chase women and play golf.
Lownie describes how in 2001, 41-year-old Andrew suffered a midlife crisis, so he began chasing women. Andrew allegedly abused his role as an international trade representative. He is said to have used his position as an excuse for taxpayer-funded trips.
During his travels, he also booked private time, so in practice the taxpayers financed Andrew’s vacations and perhaps, for example, dalliances with prostitutes.
Andrew also lost his princely title. It was previously announced that Andrew would give up various titles, but would remain a prince. PDO
Namely, Lownie tells how Andrew would have invited up to 40 prostitutes to his hotel in just four days during his trip to Thailand.
Andrew traveled to Thailand for the king’s birthday celebrations as his country’s representative and demanded to stay in a five-star hotel instead of the embassy.
– Andrew had 40 prostitutes in four days. This was possible thanks to diplomats and others.
Lownie said in the podcast that the claim of 40 prostitutes has been confirmed by several sources, including a Reuters correspondent and a member of the Thai royal family.
The historian is also concerned about how Andrew may have used his position to further his own transactions. He tells Andrew he has lists of people he would like to meet for his own business goals.
Documents from Andrew’s tenure (2001-2011) are classified. Lownie is calling for transparency and “breaking the conspiracy of secrecy surrounding Andrew”.
