In the end, the Munich women cheered about a significant victory at Eintracht. However, a gate triggered confusion.

Around 30,500 fans ensured a club record backdrop in the Frankfurt Waldstadion on Saturday afternoon. On the pitch, however, things went anything but encouraging for the hosts. Bayern’s second goal in particular came to the center.

In the 29th minute, Pernille Harder, who was behind the goal line, played the ball to Klara Bühl. This met to 2-0 – however, Harder had previously been in an off -the -go position. After a long consultation by the referees around Karoline Wacker, the goal was ultimately given.

Eintracht Sophia Kleinherern said: “It was said that two players from us were still on the line and therefore it is not offside.” Teammate Pia-Sophie Wolter said: “I didn’t see it exactly.”

She also described the scene as opaque: “I didn’t understand it at all – first it was a goal, then no goal, then it was discussed, then it was a goal again.” There is no video evidence in the women’s Bundesliga. For Wolter, the technical means would “surely be an idea because we would not be here and discuss.”

Katharina Kiel, Technical Director of the SGE, said at half -time in the ARD that it was “very bitter for us, that can be decisive for the game in the situation”. She also spoke out for the video evidence. Trainer Niko Arnautis was cautious. Although he was annoyed, he emphasized: “In the end I have to say that the cold -nave has made the difference.”

Through the victory, the Munich women expanded the lead over Frankfurt in the table three games before the end of the season to nine points – and have a firm eye on the third championship title in a row.
