A garden house burned out on the Bunder in Gemert on Tuesday evening. A conservatory suffered great damage. The fire brigade was worried about explosion hazard, because there were gas bottles in the garden house. Solar panels were damaged by the fire and loose pieces were released.

The fire broke out around half past seven, probably in a scooter that stood in the garden shed. How that was possible is unclear.

According to a local resident, there was a short but hefty fire, which was accompanied by a good smoke development. No one was injured.

‘Extinguishing it’
Because of the chance of exploding one or more gas bottles, the fire brigade, a spokesperson said, had to extinguish. That means there was extra protection between the burning gas bottles and the extinguishing firefighters.

By half past eight it was announced that three gas bottles were brought to safety.

The garden shed was almost destroyed. A adjacent conservatory was a lot of damage and may have to be broken down.

Particles of solar panels get loose
Three solar panels that were on the conservatory have been damaged. It seems that particles that have come loose, all on the plot where the garden house stood ended up.

The fire brigade would portray exactly where those pieces of the solar panels have landed.

After more than an hour, the fire brigade was still busy with the nak. The job for the fire brigade was done by half past ten.

The two fire trucks that were deployed when extinguishes were already arrived at the bunder two minutes after the report. “That was very fast,” the fire brigade spokesperson agrees. The cars were nearby for a different job and were then sent to the burning garden house.
