Galatasaray’s Dursun Özbek and Erden Timur were referred to PFDK!



Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Legal Consultancy referred Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek and Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy President Erden Timur, as well as Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Gaziantep FK, Yılport Samsunspor and Mondihome Kayserispor to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK).


In the statement made by TFF, it was stated that Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek was referred to the PFDK for “Statements about referees and other competition officials” due to his statements on January 12 and “Unsportsmanlike conduct” for his statements on January 16. It was stated that Özbek was sent to discipline due to the video sharing made on Galatasaray Club’s social media account and also for “statements about the referee and other match officials”.


It was stated that it was decided to refer Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur to the PFDK for “unsportsmanlike conduct” due to his statements at the press conference held on January 12, while Galatasaray Club was also sent to discipline due to the statements of its president and manager at the same press conference.


It was noted that the yellow-red club was also referred to the PFDK for statements about the referee and other match officials and unsportsmanlike conduct due to the ugly and bad cheering in the Mondihome Kayserispor match and the post made on the social media account after the match.


The legal consultancy’s office criticized Fenerbahçe for field incidents and stairwells not being left empty, Gaziantep FK for field incidents and ugly and bad cheering, Yılport Samsunspor for ugly and bad cheering, and Mondihome Kayserispor for unsportsmanlike behavior as a team due to 6 players seeing yellow. It was stated that he was sent to discipline for the following reasons.


It was stated that EMS Yapı Sivasspor’s football player Fode Koita, who received a red card in Samsunspor’s away game, was referred to PFDK as a precaution due to his illegal behavior.
