Return to old place of work
Two days after the separation from Domènec Torrent, Galatasaray Istanbul presented a successor. Okan Buruk becomes the new coach at the Süper Lig club. The 48-year-old was last in charge of Basaksehir until January 2021, where he scored an average of 1.62 points from 76 games and celebrated the championship in 2020.
For the native of Istanbul, it is a return to his old place of work. During his playing career, he made a total of 306 appearances for the “Lions” and won the UEFA Cup, among other things. Galatasaray is Buruk’s eighth stop in his head coaching career.
