Rumors about the departure of defensive all-rounder Josuha Guilavogui from VfL Wolfsburg have been regular in recent years – now, shortly before the winter transfer deadline, they are picking up steam again. According to consistent reports from “image” and “L’Equipe“ the Frenchman is being talked about in his home country at Girondins Bordeaux, the German newspaper also mentions Montpellier HSC, RC Lens and SCO Angers. Also reports “RMC Sports‘ that Guilavogui is in talks with Galatasaray Istanbul.
In Wolfsburg, the “six” is under contract until 2023. Under Mark van Bommel and initially also under Florian Kohfeldt, he was actually set again. There was some tension with ex-coach Oliver Glasner, even if Guilaovgui made 58 appearances in the two years – especially because of his status as captain at the time. After van Bommel took off the bandage, things went better again. But Kohfeldt recently no longer relied on the darling of the public. In the last five Bundesliga games (1 point), Guilavogui only played 18 minutes in the 0:4 against FC Bayern.
In the Wolfsburg forum, the community is open to Guilavogui leaving. “Gavin_WOB” even writes: “I would treat him.”
