VVMC is the largest trade union at the Dutch Railways, which previously made a last collective agreement offer on Wednesday. Among other things, the railway company wants to increase wages stronger than before. There will also be an improved arrangement for heavy work. Employees who have done heavy work at the Dutch Railways for thirty years or more can stop working three years earlier.

Earlier on Wednesday, CNV also announced that it would submit the final offer of the Dutch Railways to the trade union members. It is not yet known what FNV will do.

The trade unions have laid out the work four times since the hell of the collective agreement consultation. The first strike took place on 6 June in the Central region. Because it covers the area around Utrecht, an important pivot in the rail network, no NS trains could run throughout the country. Also on 10 June, the Dutch Railways had to scrap the timetable nationwide as a result of the strike in the entire Randstad.

The other strike days, on June 13 and last Tuesday, were regional. For example, NS staff in the North and South of the Netherlands did not work on that first day. On Tuesday, the rail staff in the Northwest and East regions resigned. Although these strikes were regional, they also had consequences for the timetable in the rest of the country.
