The meeting between Arsenal and local rival Crystal Palace did not turn out to be a football classic.

The Gunners eventually ran away with an overwhelming 5-0 home win, which left Palace in the lead Roy Hodgson’s to an even more difficult position. The former Huuhkajat coach may lose his job in the next few days.

– We deserved to lose because we played against a much better team. We are having a really bad period now, Hodgson admitted.

Leandro Trossard secured Arsenal’s victory with his 3–0 goal in the second period and extra time Gabriel Martinelli would score two more goals.

– Of course, they made the result much worse than we were.

In this season’s Premier League, 204 matches have been played out of a total of 380. They have produced an average of 3.1 goals, which would be a new record in Premier League history if the level is maintained until the end of the season.

However, Arsenal’s second goal, which was scored against Palace, was what puzzled statisticians by Dean Henderson own goal.

The matter is of no greater importance than to bettors who may have placed their money on the topper Gabriel’s for the goal.

At least Henderson could not have done anything differently in the situation.
