‘We are almost there!’
From August 16, the new season can be seen on NPO 1, Omroep MAX announced today. Where will the journey go this time? Spain! A group of Dutch seniors prepares the caravans and motorhomes for departure.
Journey of 3000 kilometers
They start on the Costa Verde. The group starts on the Spanish north coast and then travels no less than 3000 kilometers. The holiday ends near Tarragona on the Mediterranean Sea.
Martine van Os surprised by participants
Martine van Os takes over the presentation of the program again. She is already traveling for the eleventh time with a group of older tourists and she still does so with great pleasure. Martine: “Every year I visit the most beautiful places. But I am always most surprised by the participants. I think it is beautiful and special to see such a motley collection of Dutch people with such completely different backgrounds sharing their joys and sorrows with each other during these trips.”
Viewership hit
We are almost there! has been on TV since 2011. Until 2017, the trip was organized by the ANWB, which was also a sponsor of the program. Since then, the trip has been organized by ACSI, a tourist information service for visitors to campsites in Europe. The program is a huge ratings hit and attracts on average more than a million viewers.
But then came corona
The corona pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works for two years. In 2020, the program was not broadcast at all. A new season appeared in 2021, but due to the corona measures, no trip abroad could be made. That is why it was recorded in the Netherlands. But now returns We are almost there! so back in its old familiar state.
