From now on, in every redesign of the public domain and mobility, Bruges wants to take the interests of children into account first. Bruges is introducing it as a concrete policy instrument and now wants to systematically test whether traffic interventions are good for children.
“We will do this when working on public domain or mobility,” says Mayor Dirk De fauw. “Also when introducing certain measures, one-way traffic or speed limits. We always first think about how a child will experience this, and how they will experience the innovation. If it is good for a child, it will also be good for adults.”
