From Mario Kart tournament to children’s market: this is the Zoetermeer weekend agenda (24 – 26 January)

The weekend is just around the corner and Zoetermeer is buzzing with activities. Visit a baby, toddler and preschool market, take a winter walk or take an aerial yoga course. Here are our tips for a successful weekend!

Mario Kart tournament

Test your Mario Kart skills during a tournament on Saturday, January 25 at 8:00 PM. At Mrs. Latenstond on Karel Doormanlaan you compete against three opponents in a race to the bitter end. Are you between 14 and 34 years old and ready to show that you are the fastest? Rainbow Road or Bowser’s Castle? It is free to register and you can do so here.

Los Tesos

The new edition of Los Tesos is on Saturday, January 25 at 1892 Eten & Drinken. Enjoy salsa, bachata, merengue and reggaeton. At 9:30 PM there will be a salsa workshop and live percussion by Nique. DJs JuanPachanga and Richard provide the music. The party lasts from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Tickets costs 7.50 euros.

Winter walk in the Nature Garden

Explore the Nature Garden on Sunday, January 26, during a tour lasting over an hour. Accompanied by a guide, you will learn about the landscape, the plants and animals that can be found in the garden. The walk starts at 2 p.m. at the picnic table (Turfberg, follow signs to Natuurtuin/Westpunt). You can participate for free and registration is not required.

Baby, toddler and preschool market

During the National Reading Days, Library Forum organizes a baby, toddler and preschool market on Sunday, January 26. Children from zero to six years old enjoy activities such as the Music Soul House Music Safari, the theater performance Rinus and play options from Speel-o-theek Zoetermeer. In the meantime, parents are looking around at stalls of Zoetermeer organizations including Meerpunt, Junis Childcare and Bookstore Silvester. The market lasts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and admission is free.

Aerial yoga

Have you always wanted to hang in canvases? This is your chance! An aerial yoga workshop starts on Sunday January 26 Sweetlake PDA. Learn to do somersaults, hang upside down, float and other acrobatic tricks. Furthermore, attention is paid to mindfulness and rest. It starts at 10.45 am and the workshop consists of a series of eight. You pay 147 euros for the series of lessons and you can do itherebooks.
