From Marbella to Belek and from Cádiz to Velsen-Zuid: North Holland clubs at training camp

Ajax, AZ and FC Volendam boarded the plane today for a training camp in warmer places. Of the North Holland clubs, only Telstar remains in the Netherlands.

AZ

The people from Alkmaar will stay in Marbella for the next few days. A practice match is planned against German superpower Borussia Dortmund in the Spanish coastal town on Saturday. The Germans are fifth in the Bundesliga. Later today it will be announced which youth players AZ will take to Spain.

AZ resumes the Premier League on Saturday, January 13 with an away match against FC Twente.

Ajax

Ajax goes to Cádiz, Spain from January 2 to 7. On Sunday, John van ‘t Schip’s team will play a practice match against the German Hannover 96. That team plays in the second Bundesliga and is currently in eighth place.

Ajax starts the second half of the competition on Sunday, January 14. Then the Amsterdam team will play against Go Ahead Eagles.

FC Volendam

FC Volendam boarded a plane to Belek, Turkey, this morning. Two practice matches are planned for the team of Regilio Simons and Michael Dingsdag. On Friday Volendam plays against Spartak Tirana and three days later FC Winterthur is the opponent. The team will fly back to Volendam on Tuesday, January 9.

FC Volendam continues the competition on Sunday, January 14. Then they play at home against Almere City FC.

Telstar

Telstar is not going to a training camp. The first training of the new year was planned for Mike Snoei’s men today. On Saturday Telstar will practice in the Telstar Stadium against second divisionist Royal HFC.

Telstar will resume the first division on Friday, January 12. Then Telstar plays at home against Jong AZ.
