Jagr insists that he is not done with his career.
– It is not official. I didn’t say that. However, at my age, it doesn’t make sense to train and prepare, or spend a lot of time on hockey, when my playing time is a maximum of 12 minutes per match, the player comments and continues:
– Travel and everything else comes on top. It’s not worth it anymore.
In the current season, Jagr has played six matches in the Czech premier league in the team he co-owns in Rytíři Kladno. He has marked one assist.
Konkari was last on the ice in December. His plus-minus statistic is seven notches below zero.
Retirement days in mind
Jagr wants to think about life other than hockey.
– I still enjoy it [pelaamisesta]but I don’t know how long I will be active, able to walk and enjoy life. I have maybe 15 years left. I want to spend them as I have planned. I mean an active life.
Jagr played a whopping 1,733 games in the regular season of the NHL, where he had 766+1,155=1,921. In a total of 208 playoff games, the forward’s points balance was 78+123=201.
The Czech star won the Stanley Cup in 1991 and 1992. In his career, Jagr has also played in his home country and in the KHL. In the national team, he has won, among other things, Olympic gold and two world championships.
