From January to June 2023, the world’s top bombers: statistics, Icardi is on the podium!

He is always at the center of market rumors and gossip… Yet Mauro Icardi has respectable scoring numbers considering only 2023.

From the beginning of January to the end of June, in fact, Galatasaray’s Argentine striker is third in the absolute world scorers ranking behind leader German Cano, a 35-year-old compatriot who plays for Fluminense, and Hugo Cuypers, a 26-year-old striker from Ghent.

Cano leads the rankings of the best bomber in the world league for the third consecutive month. He scored 19 goals for the Flu between Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Campeonato Carioca.

Maurito, however, defends himself worthily with his 18 goals in the first six months of the year in Turkey. Furthermore, he scored the last goal in the derby won 3-0 against Fenerbahçe on 4 June.

Icardi at 30with all the necessary assessments on the level of the Süper Lig, he fell behind colleagues like Kane and Osimhen (17), Mbappé (16) and Haaland (15). Perhaps the former Inter is not quite so “boiled”.
