From Israeli prison to Dokkum: Roos (30) was sometimes afraid, but mainly worried about her fellow fighters

As a little girl, Roos Ykema (30) was already very social and wanted to work for Doctors Without Borders or do development work. It eventually landed her on the Global Sumud Flotilla, the sea aid transport for Gaza, which ended up in an Israeli prison. Despite that experience, she remains hopeful. “Doing nothing won’t help anyway.”
