Pastor Lilly Schaack welcomed the graduates of the TH Lübeck and her families, friends and guests with a free retelling of the Jewish-Christian history of creation. The path from chaos to finished creation. Maybe it reminded her a little of her way through her studies. Whether you are a believer or not, whether Christian or Muslim, Hindu or not religious, it is wisdom in these old stories.
The pastor insures the graduate: If the Technical University Lübeck graduates today, it also means that it trusts them to bring some order into this chaos. (…) Research and ask, use your knowledge and talents, bring a little order to chaos and enjoy everything that is already very good in this world.
Diamonds arise under pressure?
In his speech, Prof. Jochen Abke, Vice President for Studies and Digitization, conveys that the graduated should trust themselves and their skills. You are the main actors today. (…) If I can give you a degree, I am proud of my colleagues and of course on you. Listen to no one than to yourself.
Jochen Abke thinks little of sayings, such as: Diamonds are created under pressure. That’s why he advises the graduate. Learn for life, shape our future, we need you.
A good human end
Henning Schumann, Mayor of Lübeck, underlines how important the graduates are for the city: They studied with diligence and perseverance at a university that has a very good reputation. (…) We hope that you stay in Lübeck and that the contacts between the universities and the economy are still gaining weight here.
Finally, he gives the graduate something personal on the way: Listen to your heart. I can have a good end, I need a good human degree and it takes place in the heart. No matter where there is a little light, the darkness has no chance. Be the light for the people around them.

Excellent start -up support
A special academic way is Dr. Marleen Jennifer Wohlert. She was honored as a doctoral from TH Lübeck. As part of the graduation celebration, Wohlert provided her work with the title Excellence in university foundation support – an exploration of the success factors of excellent founding -supporting universities in Germany before. Founding centers at universities and, for example, the Foundercube On the Lübeck campus, an elementary contribution would be made to support founders on their way. In short, Wohlert explains her work: Following the approach ‘to learn from the best’, I examined the success factors of the best founding -supporting universities in order to derive specific recommendations for action for excellent start -up support.
Wohlert thanked her companions. It is grateful for the opportunity to do their doctorate at TH Lübeck and, among other things, emphasize the support from the inner program.
“Our ways are diverse”
Fabian Schwarze, graduate of the course Information technology and design Reported from his long way to the end of the Ther Lübeck and encourages it. No way can be better or worse because there is no general goal. Our paths are diverse. We should not immediately seek and value differences. But – and here is the important point – that doesn’t mean that we should just accept the world as it is. Not to be evaluated should not mean developing indifference to the conditions of the world. Because a world in which we all only think of ourselves and lose ourselves in our own lives is a poorer.
