The philosopher Alejandro Rozitchnerknown for his presence in public debate and his frequent interventions on social networks, has become in recent months one of the most visible defenders of the government of Javier Milei in X. His account, however, reveals a stark contrast to the opinions he had expressed about the libertarian during the 2023 presidential campaign.

One of the most memorable messages was published shortly before the runoff. In that tweet, Rozitchner harshly questioned the figure of the then candidate and described him as “unstable, authoritarian”in addition to stating that the country did not need “psychiatrists in power” again. The comment synthesized the rejection that part of the intellectual world expressed at that time towards Milei’s confrontational style.

However, shortly after, the philosopher himself began to state that, beyond these criticisms, he considered it necessary to vote for the libertarian to avoid a triumph of Peronism. This initial support, which was presented as a strategic decision in the face of the electoral scenario, would end up evolving into increasingly explicit support during the administration.

In recent months, Rozitchner multiplied his messages in defense of the president, questioning his critics and celebrating the political and economic direction of the government. One of the most recent, published just a few days ago, defended Milei’s confrontational tone and maintained that It’s okay to call the corrupt “squirts” directly in their facein reference to the criticisms that are often made about the president’s style.

Rozitchner did not make a public explanation about the contrast between his initial diagnosis of the libertarian leader’s personality and his current support. On the contrary, in his recent interventions he usually presents criticism of the president as expressions of sectors that, according to his view, resist losing privileges or accepting profound changes in the country.
