From clipped walls to paint stains and a floor window: Klaas opted for a cool interior behind a stately facade | My Guide

Live.We may never have the money to live there ourselves, but we all enjoy looking at and dreaming of a great home. That’s why we show an amazing home every Wednesday. This week it is an Amsterdam canal house.

In a city it is always a bit of guessing which interiors are hidden behind the classic and often protected facades. Klaas’s Amsterdam canal house already looks a bit less stately than the surrounding houses and it was also built in a later phase. You can clearly see how that happened today, because Klaas stripped several rooms, so that the beam structure and the masonry became visible again. The dark tones left behind by the nails and the remnants of the plaster give the renovated interior a tough look.

Klaas, who as a dutchguy84 has almost 50,000 followers on Instagram, opted for a mix of styles with handmade objects, natural materials and large lamps. Everything is neatly balanced by applying the same color palette everywhere with black, white, brown and gray tones.

One of the most successful areas is the bedroom. Since it had no daylight, he made a hole in the ceiling and installed a floor window. In this way, the bed from the Swiss Sense collection seems to be completely in the spotlight. Klaas brightened up the wall behind it with a painted stripe pattern. The space flows into the bathroom with a rugged freestanding roll top bath.

Another eye-catcher is the roof terrace, which will be neatly decorated from spring. Such an outdoor room is a great luxury in the city where many people do not even have a balcony.
