A victory for morale and efficiency: SV Wehen Wiesbaden won at FC Ingolstadt on Saturday. The decisive goal fell in a curious way.

Third division soccer team SV Wehen Wiesbaden clinched their third win in their sixth game of the season. At FC Ingolstadt, coached by ex-coach Rüdiger Rehm, the state capital won 3-2 (1-2) on Saturday.

SVWW can’t get Tobias Bech under control – for the time being

The hosts from Upper Bavaria took the lead in the first half thanks to a brace from Tobias Bech (21st minute, 37th). However, before the half-time whistle, the SVWW, who were actually the better team in the early stages, were able to reduce the deficit to 1:2 (39 ‘) with a goal from Ahmet Gürleyen.

After the change of sides, the Hessians turned up the heat – and unlike the FCI, they took advantage of their chances. Benedict Hollerbach scored the equalizer in the middle of the second half when he danced out Bech on the edge of the penalty area and then put the ball in with a spirited shot in the top corner (66′).

Curious goal brings SVWW victory

Shortly before the final phase, the guests turned the game and the result completely. After a corner, Sebastian Mrowca initially only hit the post – but from there the ball smacked the head of FCI goalkeeper Marius Funk and then finally tumbled into the goal (73′).

The SVWW should be fine: Coach Markus Kauczinski’s team has been unbeaten in four league games – and three of these four games ended in a Wiesbaden victory.
