Bayern boss announces “very timely” decision

FC Bayern recently withdrew its offer to extend the contract. But that doesn’t mean that Joshua Kimmich leaves the club in summer. The sports director has now announced an early decision.
Is he extending his contract in Munich or is he over after the season? No personnel are currently being discussed as hot as that of Joshua Kimmich at FC Bayern. The national team captain has been under contract with the record champions since 2015. His contract expires in summer. On Thursday it became known that the club has withdrawn its range of Kimmich to extend.
So what’s next with the 30-year-old? Sports director Christoph Freund now commented on the 3-1 away win at VfB Stuttgart on Friday, in which Kimmich was not used due to injuries (tendon irritation in the left rear thigh).
The Austrian said at the streaming service: “So much is written, speculated and reported. We have never given a water level report about the status of the contract negotiations and we will not do that now. I can only emphasize that we have had really good and fair conversations with the Jo the last few months. And we will continue to do so.”
Then Freund announced: “There will be a decision very promptly. But we do not comment on anything that has been reported. We are in direct conversations with Jo, and that’s the most important thing.
Regarding the report that the English top club FC Arsenal Kimmich is said to have made an offer, Freund said with a smile: “I didn’t get anyone.” Kimmich is one of the undisputed regular players under coach Vincent Kompany, was in the starting XI until his injury in all Bundesliga games.
