French TV station does not show EM victory-that’s the reason

France’s national team of women made the group victory perfect on the third matchday. But the domestic fans saw another game on TV.
Three games, three victories: France showed more than convincing performance in the “Death Group” of women’s football European Football. After victories against defending champion England and Wales, a 5-2 against ex-European champion Netherlands followed on Sunday. Anyone who wanted to follow the game in France as usual at TF1, the country’s largest broadcaster, saw another game.
Because TF1 decided to show the final of the club World Cup between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea FC, which took place at the same time. The broadcaster had the rights on both games. As it was shown later, it was an unfortunate decision.
At least for the football fans who wanted to see a successful French team. While “Les Bleues” were able to win her game, PSG clearly lost 0: 3 to the final against Chelsea FC.
ARD expert Almuth Schult took the decision with humor. “Perhaps that was also a default reaction of the French women who showed: we can do it better,” said the former German national goalkeeper.
