Jesper de Jong failed in the qualification – and is now still in the round of 16 against Zverev. How he ended up there has a special story.
On Sunday Alexander Zverev will play for a place in the quarter-finals at the French Open in Paris. His opponent is the Dutch Jesper de Jong – a lucky loser who didn’t make it through qualifying and still slipped into the main draw.
De Jong impressed in the main field and will now face the 29-year-old from Hamburg. The game starts at 3:30 p.m. (in the live ticker on t-online and Eurosport). Zverev goes into the match as the clear favorite.
The evening game follows on the Court Philippe Chatrier from 8:15 p.m.: The Brazilian João Fonseca meets the Norwegian Casper Ruud. Fonseca had previously thrown Novak Djoković out of the tournament.
