The final of the club World Cup with PSG’s participation takes place at the same time for the European Championship game of France. A TV station only broadcasts one game.
Paris Saint-Germain is in the final of the club World Cup and plays against Chelsea on Sunday. However, the tournament’s final takes place in the USA at 9 p.m.-and thus at the same time as the European Championship game of the French national team against the Netherlands. For this reason, France’s TV broadcaster TF1 no longer shows the European Championship game, but that of PSG. That triggered anger.
The French striker Kadidiatou Diani from Olympique Lyon said in a press conference: “Yes, it is true, we heard the news. I think it is good for French football that our games are broadcast on TF1. Of course we are disappointed. We would have liked better accessibility.” But she also noticed: “But the game is still broadcast on TMC for free. This is also a good thing for us.”
Chelsea’s midfielder Oriane Jean-François said that it was a little disappointment, but the team just had bad luck. After all, all three group games took place at the same time as the club World Cup. At the same time, she emphasized: “But it is still PSG. It is a French association and they play the final.”
