French fashion designer Thierry Mugler dies at 73

The world of fashion and culture mourns the loss of French fashion designer Thierry Mugler. Many stars and former companions spoke up on social networks: “I will miss you, Thierry Mugler, it was a wonderful time in our lives,” Souldiva Diana Ross wrote on Twitter. The musician also posted a photo of the two from a young age.

Fashion photographer Mario Testino posted five broken hearts under the announcement of his death on Instagram. France’s pop icon Carla Bruni, “Topmodel” presenter Heidi Klum and US model Gigi Hadid also commented on the post. Georgia May Jagger, Mick Jagger’s daughter, wrote: “I can’t believe this is true”.

Thierry Mugler died on Sunday at the age of 73

Mugler passed away on Sunday at the age of 73, according to the post on Instagram. This was also confirmed by his agent Jean-Baptiste Rougeot of the AFP news agency. His death came unexpectedly, he wanted to announce collaborations next week.

Mugler was one of the great French fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent or Jean Paul Gaultier and had a strong influence on fashion, especially in the 80s. Stars like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and David Bowie also wore his dresses. (dpa)
