French actor Jean Louis Trintignant dies at 91

French actor Jean-Louis Trintignant has died this Friday at the age of 91, his wife Mariane Hoepfner Trintignant announced to the press.

The interpreter, known for films such as ‘Amour’, ‘A man and a woman’ or ‘And God created woman…’ has died “peacefully, of old age, this morning at his home in the Gard, surrounded by his next ones”, specifies his wife.

Trintignant, in addition to being an actor and film director, put his voice and elegance to numerous documentaries and series.

In his filmography, titles such as “A man and a woman” by Claude Lelouch stand out — Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1966 –, acting award at Cannes for “Z” by Costa Gravas in 1969 and César for best actor for “Amour ” by Michael Haneke in 2013.
