Of course you can also talk about other topics, because that is the freedom we have. To celebrate that freedom, the National Committee 4 and 5 May organizes freedom meals throughout the Netherlands.
Freedom meal in Zoetermeer
In Zoetermeer you can also join such a freedom meal and on Twelve different locations Spread throughout the city. Think of lunch in the Waterbuurt in Meerzicht, at Buytenrode neighborhood association or the neighborhood garden in Rokkeveen. Registration for the freedom meal is mandatory. Please note that some freedom meals are only accessible on invitation.
Soup
With meals there is freedom soup on the table, among other things. This year the soup recipe comes from the tube of Jet van Nieuwkerk: a minestron soup with kale and white beans.
In 2020 the freedom meals could not take place in the usual way. The Amsterdam 4 & 5 May Committee then devised a special can of freedom meal soup with Michelin chef Joris Bijdendijk and Samuel Levie, with the aim that everyone-despite the corona measures-could share the same meal.
In 2021, 2022 and 2023, the soup, which is always vegan, was continued by the National Committee 4 and 5 May and distributed throughout the Netherlands. The recipe is always from another well -known chef; Yvette from above (2021), Nadia Zerouali (2022), London Loy (2023) and Nick Toet (2024).
