Thirty years after the death of Freddie Mercury, an announced biography of the artist is now causing excitement: he allegedly had a daughter who remained a secret to the public for over 48 years. Even a close confidant of the Queen singer has never heard of her before.

As the book “Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life & Love” by British music journalist Lesley-Ann Jones, Mercury is said to have had a short affair with the wife of a close friend in 1976. This encounter emerged from a child who is 48 years old today, lives in Europe and works as a health specialist.
According to this, only Mercury’s closest confidants, including his parents, his sister, bandmate of Queen and his long -time friend Mary Austin, knew about the daughter’s existence. The daughter’s identity is still unknown, in the book it is only described as “B”.

The photographer Peter Hinte was a close confidante and chief butler Mercury and was on tour with Queen from 1975 to 1986. He now told the “picture” that the news about the alleged daughter is very surprised. The 70-year-old explained: “I don’t think this story. I think it is a flourishing imagination. To think of nonsense with which a book is to be sold. It hurts my heart for Freddie because he can no longer express himself.”
Hince also explained that in the past there have been several people who have been the specifications of being Freddie Mercury. During the lifetime of the musician, the opposite could be proven with DNA tests. “This is not possible in this case. Freddie died in 1991 and his body was burned at the time.”
17 personal diaries of Freddie Mercury as evidence
Before Mercury died of a pneumonia caused by AIDS in 1991, he is said to have handed over 17 personal diaries to his daughter. These should also be the basis for the book that will be released on September 5. According to Peter Hint, this is another indication that the story did not correspond to the truth. “In my many years with Freddie I never saw him write a diary. I was at his side almost day and night and doubt that there are such records,” said the photographer. He also wondered why the possibly daughter is said to have kept silent for 48 years. He also sees inconsistencies in the testament of the musician: “If it would be right, if he had left her something and not used his former fiance Mary Austin as heir.”

However, the 70-year-old seems to see the greatest contradiction due to Mercury’s sexuality, because later his coming out celebrated. “When I read that he was supposed to become the father of a daughter in 1976, I had to laugh. That sounds extremely unlikely to me. I never saw a woman other than Mary nearby,” he said.
It is currently uncertain and probably difficult to prove whether the story is actually correct. For Peter Hinc, however, it is clear: “Freddie would be very unhappy that someone now uses his good name to make money. I lack respect.”
