Fred Kerley, Olympic bronze medalist in the 100 meters in Paris, was arrested Thursday in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of assault and resisting a public official. This is what the police told WSVN-TV in Miami. It appears that the arrest is the result of a dispute between Kerley and the police regarding the former’s car parked near the site of an investigation. Police said Kerley refused to leave when asked, became aggressive, took on a threatening attitude and was eventually restrained with a Taser.

The American Kerley, 29, is one of the leading sprinters at the moment and one of Marcell Jacobs’ rivals.
