Fred can finally go to the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden: “Now only final tickets”

“I am incredibly happy!”, exclaims Fred Helmstruggle from Schagen. He can go to Sweden with peace of mind. He already has flags, tickets and a hotel room and now finally also tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest; for the first and second semi-finals. Now the final goal: a ticket for the final of the jubilee Eurovision Song Contest. Maybe that will work with some help NH Helps.

“I check the website every day to see if there are still tickets, but it is very difficult for the final,” says 60-year-old Fred. He has been a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest since he was a child and has attended the finals thirteen times. His house in Schagen is full of CDs, books and hats from the annual spectacle.

Drink and ice cream

Last Friday he received the redeeming message from a Facebook friend – also Fred – who saw tickets for the semi-finals. “He arranged it for me and I have the tickets and also on my phone. I met Fred yesterday at a concert in Nijmegen. We had dinner together at the Chinese and I was treated to drinks and ice cream.”

In recent years Fred has traveled all over Europe to attend the live shows. Flight tickets for the finals in Malmö, Sweden, have already been received, so if you manage to get tickets for the final even at the very last minute, Fred will be there as quickly as possible to cheer on the Dutch entry Joost. “I sincerely hope so. It’s very sweet of all those people who are searching for me.”
