The treasurer of the Oudenbosch 750 committee against whom a declaration was made for embezzlement is a 28 -year -old man from Oudenbosch. According to several sources in the village, he has put an amount of around 75,000 euros in his own pocket. The board of the organizing foundation came behind the fraud when suppliers sounded why bills were not paid. It soon became apparent that the treasurer had tampered. Reason for the foundation to report the man to the police.
The foundation has received a 90,000 euro subsidy from the municipality for organizing the festivities. According to Mark Buijs of the Oudenbosch committee, the fraud has considerable consequences for the festivities that are still on the planning this year. “We want to do everything we can to let the planned festivities continue as much as possible, but that may be in a freshened form.”
The treasurer still lives with his parents. According to Buijs, he was financially in the mess and therefore put the money in his own pocket.
