An independent home nurse, her partner, her mother and an employee were arrested in Houthulst. The woman allegedly had fictitious benefits paid out by the health insurance funds. The damage amounted to millions of euros. No fewer than seventeen luxury vehicles, luxury goods, real estate and cash were seized.
The home nurse is a councilor for the Vlaams Belang. “We are upset by the facts and completely distance ourselves from them. Naturally, social fraud cannot be tolerated in any way,” the party says in an official response.
“As soon as we were informed, we immediately suspended the person in question as a member. This person can therefore no longer speak on our behalf. We are starting the internal procedure, while awaiting the outcome of the judicial investigation,” Vlaams Belang added.
