The international biathlon stars are guest in the Munich Olympic Park in October. The German fans can look forward to overall World Cup winner Franziska Preuss.
On October 18 and 19, the IBU Loop One Festival celebrates its premiere in Munich. The German Ski Association has now published its start list for the Rollski spectacle.
In addition to overall World Cup winner Franziska Preuß, Janina Hettich-Walz, Selina Grotian and Marlene Fichtner also start in addition to overall World Cup winner.
“My season preparation has so far been completely according to plan, without health restrictions. At the German championships, I have already shown that I stabilized myself in shooting over the summer – I would also like to demonstrate that at the Loop One Festival. I am particularly looking forward to the international comparison shortly before the start of the season, which is now imminent,” Grotian is quoted in an association’s message.
Vanessa Voigt will not start in Munich because the 27-year-old follows a special training plan after her long break, explained biathlon sports director Felix Bitterling. “However, she has already participated in Dresden and convinced with constant achievements at the German championship,” said the DSV official to the personnel.
International biathlon stars are guest in Munich
Justus Strelow, Roman Rees, Philipp Nawrath and Lucas Fratzscher start for the German biathlon team at the men.
The DSV stars compete in Munich with international sizes such as Lou JeanMonnot or Sturla Holm Laegreid.
“I am very happy to be there at this event – especially since it is a premiere for me. I think such formats are an attractive way to further develop the biathlon and also win new fans when we go straight to the cities with sport,” Rees looked ahead.
Munich is “a great city and promises an impressive backdrop with the Olympic Park. The European Championship and Mountain Bike races were already taking place there, which I still remember. That is why it is also an honor for me to be able to start here. I am sure that it will be a great event,” added the German ski hunter.
