The new Kering boss Luca de Meo does not lose time with the reorganization of the French luxury group. After taking office on Monday, there is already a drastic change at the top of Gucci.

As specialist media such as Business of Fashion and Women’s Wear Daily report, Gucci-CEO Stefano Cantino is in office after only around nine months.

Francesca Bellettini, currently deputy kering CEO, is the possible successor with responsibility for brand development. Further changes in top management should also be imminent-including the replacement of CFO Alberto Valente.

Bellettini is no stranger to Kering. As a CEO of Saint Laurent, the brand led the brand to almost six times sales growth over more than a decade-one of the most successful transformations within the kering portfolio.

In addition, she was closely integrated into the process for the appointment and introduction of creative director Demna Gvasalia, which should enable her to start quickly at Gucci. A change at the top could possibly be a sensitive time, because on September 23, Gvasalia will give initial insights into his creative vision for Gucci in Milan.

For the traditional house, this would have been the third leadership change since 2023. At the time, Cantino had come to Gucci as deputy CEO in May and had taken over the management of Jean-François Palus on January 1, 2024, who had previously held the brand for two years.

Fashionunited asked Kering to comment.
